Laura BaigorriMULTIVERSO, showed the works of the artists selected in the first edition of the BBVA Foundation Grants for Video Art Creation in our Madrid center. From among the numerous artists submitting entries, an evaluation committee independently selected the ten pieces making up this exhibit based on the authors’ innovation record and the originality of the projects put forward, which are now being made available to the public.
The evaluation committee was formed by Juan Antonio Álvarez Reyes, Director of the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo; Laura Baigorri, a professor in the School of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona; Javier Díaz-Guardiola, coordinator of the Art, Architecture and Design sections of supplement ‘ABC Cultural’; María Pallier, the director of arts program ‘Metrópolis’, TVE; Álvaro Rodríguez Fominaya, curator of the Film & Video space at the Guggenheim Bilbao; and Elena Vozmediano, art historian and art critic for magazine ‘El Cultural’.
Professor Laura Baigorri, a member of the committee, has taken, in consultation with the artists, on the complex mission of planning and directing the organization of the exhibit in our Madrid center.
