PROJECT
This project starts from the 99 hours of film shot by Pedro G. Romero during the performance of Las sabias, a kind of extended theater play staged at the Seville Biennial of 2017. In Las sabias, los sabiondos, los resabiados, Romero sets out to create nine video essays featuring artists accompanied by animals: from the Gypsy activist and lawyer Pastora Filigrana and her Sphynx cat to the Chilean fine arts graduate and dancer Javiera de la Fuente and her goshawk, or Flamenco dancer and palmero José Jiménez Santiago, “Bobote,” and his fighting cocks.
