PROJECT
Portadoras queer: el doble y la repetición proposes an exploration of degrees of rebelliousness through a representation of plural femaleness, using image repetition in parallel with repetition in music. The video features a specific track created alongside German musician Ascii.disko. The chorus of the song I can’t get away from myself acts, we might say, to pull together the diverse voices. The main structure of the piece comprises a series of chapters interspersed with other narratives that have emerged in the making. The end result is a short film that could be classified in many ways at the same time: drawing, dance, sculpture, catalogue, performance, music video, trailer, text, visual diary. What stands out is that all the characters are bearers of a non-binary gender in perpetual movement, accepting of the fact that to take risks is to fall down. Each one represents a new contemporary demiurge, legitimizing creation out of difference.
